I just wanted to share some of the cakes from Sherbet Bake Shop in Maylands. We wanted something sweet and Sherbet is one of the best places for cakes. Best friends Beth & Sheree were inspired by the cupcake bakeries in New York, decided to open their own New York bakery in Perth. Home to great coffee, lots of generous sandwiches, beautifully decorated cupcakes and cakes, it also has such a homely and chic feel to this little shop.
Sherbet’s counter is lined with cakes, biscuits and slices of all varieties. A small refrigerated cabinet showcases sandwiches neatly wrapped in wax paper and string; huge, fluffy marshmallow slices; tarts brimming with feta and caramelised onions; and on top of their counters lays their variety of cupcakes.
We bought a raspberry layered cake, similar to their coconut layered cake. It is a vanilla and fresh whole raspberries sponge cake with raspberry frosting in between and over the 3 layers of sponge cake. John raves about their salty caramel slice which I am hanging to try but instead we bought their chocolate peanut slice which a like a caramel slice but has bits of whole peanuts in the caramel. It is to die for, so decadent and delicious. We also bought a coconut meringue slice which could not live up to the chocolate peanut slice.
Give Sherbet a go for breakfast or lunches or stop in to pick up their decadent cakes. Live a little, I promise they won’t let you down.
